Kumbh Mela is attended by millions of people in India. The main event of the festival is a ritual bath in the river banks in each city. Other activities include religious discussions, devotional singing, mass feeding of holy men & women.
Kumbh Mela is the most sacred of all pilgrimages. Thousands of holy men & women (monks, saints & sadhus) attend the mela and go for sangam snana. The sadhus are seen clad in saffron sheets with a pile of ashes & dust on the skin dried by the demands of older traditions.
