Have you missed the Indian railways train? Don't worry you can get back around 50% of your money back.
Now you can file TDR online (applicable for online reservations only) to get your 50% amount back from IRCTC. You can apply TDR only if you have not traveled.
There is some strict rule, Please read those before applying for TDR.
1. You can apply for TDR within 30 days from your date of journey.
2. do not claim for refund illegal or fraudulently, because IRCTC will take a legal actions against you.
Lets follow the step by step procedure to file TDR.
Step 1: Go to http://irctc.co.in/ and login to your same IRCTC account from where you booked ticket.
Step 2: From left hand side menu click on File TDR
Step 3: A new screen appears, asking account password again. Enter the password
Step 4: List of tickets booked within 30 days appears, Now select your ticket and click on File TDR.
Congratulations all is done. The IRCTC team will verify your TDR validity and if valid money will be transfer to your back account in around 15-20 days.
you can also check the status of filing TDR by selecting the ticket from list and click on check status.
Works. Got the refund amount in a week.
